What this extension does

The Hyrable browser extension has two functions:

  • Application autofill. On supported Applicant Tracking System (ATS) pages it fills job application forms with your CV, cover letter, screening answers and equal opportunity information that you have already prepared in your Hyrable account. You review every field and click Submit yourself.
  • Job board pipeline chip. On supported job boards (Indeed, Wellfound, Reed, and others) it shows a small overlay chip — similar to a browser shopping extension — so you can save a job listing to your Hyrable pipeline and trigger CV tailoring before navigating to the company's application page. The chip only reads the job title, company name, and job description visible on the page; it does not read any other content or your browsing history.

What data the extension accesses

  • The page URL and form labels of the application page you are on. The extension only activates on the supported ATS domains declared in its manifest. It reads the URL to identify the job and reads form field labels to know which field to fill. It does not read your browsing history or any other pages.
  • Your prepared application materials, on demand. When you click Autofill, the extension sends the page URL and any detected screening questions to the Hyrable API. The API returns your tailored CV PDF, cover letter, and AI-generated answers for those questions. These are your own materials stored in your Hyrable account.
  • Your pairing key, stored locally. The extension stores your pairing key and Hyrable account address in chrome.storage.sync (encrypted by Chrome, synced across your signed-in Chrome devices). No other data is stored by the extension itself.

What the extension does NOT do

  • It does not read or record your browsing history or activity on any other site.
  • It does not submit applications on your behalf - you review every filled field and click Submit yourself.
  • It does not store form field content, CV text, or personal data locally. All your data lives in your Hyrable account.
  • It does not inject ads, track clicks, or run analytics of any kind.
  • It does not sell, share, or transfer your data to any third party.
  • It does not execute any remotely hosted code.

Equal opportunity and demographic data

If you choose to enter equal opportunity information (gender identity, race/ethnicity, disability status, veteran status, pronouns) in your Hyrable profile, the extension can use that data to auto-fill the voluntary equal opportunity sections on application forms. This data is entirely optional, stored only in your Hyrable account, and never shared with employers by Hyrable. You may update or delete it at any time from your Profile settings.

Host permissions — why are specific sites requested?

The extension requests host permissions strictly for two categories of website:

  • Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). Form-filling features activate only on supported candidate application pages (such as Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, Ashby, Recruitee, Personio, and Teamtailor). The extension reads form labels to populate your candidate details, tailored CV PDF, cover letter, and screening answers.
  • Job Discovery Portals. A lightweight "Save to Hyrable" chip overlay is displayed on supported job search portals so you can save a position directly to your pipeline. It reads only the job title, company name, and description visible on screen.

The extension has no access to your browsing history or any websites outside of these declared workflows.

Pairing key and security

Your pairing key links the extension to your Hyrable Max account. The Hyrable API logs the time the key was last used so you can spot unexpected activity. You can rotate or revoke the key at any time from the Auto Apply page in your Hyrable account. Deleting your Hyrable account immediately invalidates the key server-side. Uninstalling the extension removes the key from your browser.

Data retention

  • Pairing key in browser storage: deleted when you uninstall the extension or revoke the key
  • Application materials on Hyrable servers: governed by the full Privacy Policy
